Maddie Mills is settling into her new home with her two lovable pups. Her son and sister are visiting for a few days and she is so excited to spend time with them. She is starting to realize that moving back to her childhood home might be the fresh start she’s looking for. But what was meant to be a few days of fun comes to a grinding halt when her ex-husband’s criminal acquaintance turns up in town. Then things go from bad to worse, when the criminal ends up murdered and Maddie’s son is a prime suspect.
Maddie is determined to help find the murderer, so that her son can be let off the hook. She is juggling investigating, looking for a job, and trying to work out if the police chief is friend or foe.
The clock is ticking to find the killer, before her son ends up in handcuffs!
