Cassie Alberta-Vail is looking forward to the most magical night of the season. The Little Leaf Creek Christmas Fair has it all, from a petting zoo to a spectacular light display over the frozen lake, and Sebastian has even talked Cassie into ice skating. But the festivities come to a sudden halt when Cassie glides across the rink and discovers a body under the ice.

Strangest of all, the ice surrounding the body is completely unbroken, with no sign of how the man ended up beneath it.
